BALKANET Project – 1st Newsletter

The Region of Western Greece, in the context of the Project “BALKAN IDEAS NETWORK FOR SUSTAINABLE INNOVATIONS IN THE AGRO-FOOD SECTOR- BALKANET” successfully organized on the 7th of July a thematic workshop at the Conference Center of Amaliada. The project aims to strengthen its dynamic innovation and promote applied research in rural areas in the Mediterranean.

The topic of the workshop was entitled: “The identity of agro-food products of the Region of Western Greece- Possibilities and perspectives”. In the context of the thematic workshop presentations were made by: The Vice-Governor and President of the Agro-food Partnership of Western Greece Region Mr. Vassilopoulos Theodoros, as well as speakers who addressed issues such as: the new CAP, the potentials of the agro-food products, the Agro-food Partnership of Western Greece as a tool for the promotion of the agro-food sector in Western Greece.

The thematic workshop will be followed by study visits regarding entrepreneurship, to agro- food enterprises at the Region of Western Greece to exchange good practices.
