BALKANET Project – 2nd Newsletter

The Region of Western Greece, in the context of the Project “BALKAN IDEAS NETWORK FOR SUSTAINABLE INNOVATIONS IN THE AGRO-FOOD SECTOR - BALKANET” participated in the Festival of Agro-Food Products, organized by the Chamber of Ilia (Lead Partner of the Project), at Mercouri Estate on July 27. The project aims to strengthen the dynamic of innovation and promote applied research in rural areas in the Mediterranean.

The Festival was attended by companies from Ilia as well as the Region of Western Greece. The participating agro-food entrepreneurs had the opportunity to present and promote their products, while at the same time, they took part in a thematic workshop with wine tasting and tasting activities in general. The workshop aimed at highlighting local agro-food products and creating synergies between organizations and entrepreneurs.

As part of the implementation of the Festival, recipes from Ilia – cooked with local products - were presented by Chef Panos Ioannidis.

Also, during the Festival, presentations were made by the President of the Chamber of Ilia Mr. Costa Nikoloutso, the President of the Economic Chamber – Department of NW Peloponnese & Western Greece Mr. George Pappa, the Vice President of the Peloponnese Association of Exporters Mr. Antoni Paraskevopoulo, the wine consultant and wine columnist Mr. Simo Georgopoulo, as well as Mr. Pano Ioannidi.
