New Meteorological station in Eptapyrgio, Thessaloniki

Within only one week the new meteorological station in Eptapyrgio, Thessaloniki, has already recorded significant rainfall levels. Today, it has recorded 72,4mm within only an hour. On the other hand, the temperature decreased from 23 to 13 degrees.
The new meteorological station has been procured and installed, in the context of “BeRTISS”, a transnational cooperation project with partners from Greece, Cyprus and Bulgaria. The main aim of the project is the monitoring and the timely prediction of severe weather events, such as rainfall.
The BeRTISS project is being materialized in the context of the "Balkan-Mediterranean 2014-2020" programme and is co-funded by the European Union and National Funds of the participating countries.
