AgroLabs Innovation Summit

The AgroLabs Innovation Summit was organized by the Municipality of Fier in the context of the Project “Agrofood Innovation Clusters” (AgroLabs) of the Interreg BALKAN-MED 2014-2020 Transnational Cooperation Program, on the 23rd of November 2018, at Dafinat Conference Center, Mbrostar, Fier, Albania, with 110 participants.
The AgroLabs Innovation Summit involved key stakeholders from each region; the aim of the Summit organization was to promote the transnational exchange and networking, discuss challenges and develop common solutions and strategies concerning the growth of the agro-food sector in the Balkan-Med region.
On behalf of the Municipality of Fier, Mayor Mr. Armando Subashi welcomed the participants mentioning the importance of the AGROLABS project for the local community.
The summit has been supported by the Albanian Ministry of Agriculture and Local Development, with the participation of the Deputy Minister Mrs. Ermira Gjeci, who presented the National Strategy for the Development of agro-food sector and stressed the importance of the transnational experience exchange projects like AGROLABS in the Balkan Mediterranean area.
The Innovation Summit captured, shared and transferred the knowledge and experiences from the stakeholders’ consultation on regional level. In the context of the Summit, networking has been promoted and challenges in the sector have been discussed with the participants, receiving useful feedback in the process, which will be used in order to develop common solutions and strategies concerning the growth of the agro-food sector in the Balkan-Med region.
