AGROLABS Project - Participation in Conferences

Cyprus University of Technology (PP3 in the AgroLabs Project) promoted the AgroLabs Project findings with the participation of Dr. N. Tzortzakis, Ms. P. Xylia and Dr. A. Chrysargyris, as invited speakers, in the Second Balkans - China Mini-symposium on Natural Products and Drug Discovery, which took place on 11-13 April 2019, in Belgrade, Serbia.
The participation of the members of the AgroLabs Work Team of the Cyprus University of Technology included an oral presentation titled “Exploitation of essential oils and hydrosol for the preservation of fresh produce: Quality and Safety issues”. AgroLabs findings were communicated to conference participants.
Ghent, Belgium
In the context of the AgroLabs Project, Cyprus University of Technology (PP3 in the Project) participated in the 14th IUPAC International Congress of Crop Protection Chemistry, organized by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry-IUPAC, on 19-24 May 2019, in Ghent, Belgium.
Dr. N. Tzortzakis, Ms. P. Xylia and Dr. A. Chrysargyris, as members of the PP3 Work Team, promoted the AgroLabs Project with a Poster presentation, titled: “Quality and safety attributes on shredded carrots by using Origanum majorana and ascorbic acid sanitation means”. Ms. A. Clark (Edge Hill University) and Dr. S. Petropoulos (University of Thessaly) were involved at the experimental study and analysis.
During the Congress, which constitutes one of the largest in the field of food chemistry, PP3 participants distributed AgroLabs brochures and promoted the AgroLabs Project and its findings.
Liege, Belgium
In the context of the AgroLabs Project, Cyprus University of Technology (PP3 in the Project) participated in the “V International Symposium on Postharvest Pathology”, on 19-24 May 2019, in University of Liege, in Liege, Belgium.
Dr. N. Tzortzakis and Dr. A. Chrysargyris, as members of the PP3 Work Team, promoted the AgroLabs Project with a Poster presentation, titled: “Antifungal activity of sage (Salvia triloba L.) essential oil against key postharvest pathogens”. Dr. M. Soković (University of Belgrade) was involved at the experimental study and analysis.
During the Symposium, which constitutes one of the largest in the field of postharvest sciences, PP3 participants distributed AgroLabs brochures and promoted the AgroLabs Project and its findings.
